Augusta is one of those places where the rich and famous love to be seen. All the chat on the eve of the tournament surrounded a rumoured appearance by Robbie Williams.
Initial speculation was that he would be caddying for Nick Dougherty in the Par 3 competition. Wrong.
Michael Campbell was the man who would be employing the only man who could get the words Port and Vale into a Masters Diary.
Wrong. Robbie apparently isn’t turning up until the main event is under way. But he will be here as Campbell’s guest after they struck up a friendship in Sydney and they have subsequently played golf together.
Another rumour circulating was that Ant and Dec would also be guests of the Kiwi Campbell, but the latest word is that prior commitments have scuppered their trip.
